With over 15 years in the ID market, Securit World have a long history dating from before the advent of the card printer. In 1994 they hooked up with Magicard and have just celebrated becoming the Magicard Worldwide Dealer of the Year for 2007 – the 10th time they have won this award.

Ed Heyden, Securit World’s managing director comments: “2007 was a particularly good year for Securit – with growth over 20%. Being number 1 Magicard reseller, in addition to no 1 reseller for Datacard and fastest growing Zebra distributor has really consolidated our position as leaders in the ID field. It really is a team effort and as much as we rely on our suppliers to come up with innovative and competitively priced products, we, in turn, have to provide our resellers with a level of support, pricing and delivery to get the product to the end user.”

Ed recalls: “When we entered the ID business, it was before the card printers had hit the market. It was a joy to have a card printer as it dramatically reduced the amount of equipment I had to carry around to demonstrations. Card printers totally revolutionised the industry and we were very fortunate to have been in the right place at he right time. We have come a long way from being a one man band to a company with 30 employees”

Securit World is totally focussed on the ID and visitor pass market. They have been with Magicard from the outset and during this time have seen printers come down in price from over £5000 to under £1000. Magicard’s HoloKote key feature adds security to the card without adding to the ongoing consumable cost – very relevant as cheap systems now allow easy copying of cards. Magicard’s HoloKote are a great way of preventing this happening.”

Obviously, over the years the 2 companies have built up a very good relationship.
